This year the Catholic Board of Education (CBE) is celebrating 130 years of Catholic education in The Bahamas as well as its 11th Annual Catholic Schools Week. CBE will commemorate the rich history and influence of Catholic schools throughout The Bahamas with the ‘Catholic Schools Movin’ & Groovin’ Run/Walk’ on Satruday, February 1st, 2020.

We invite Catholic school alumni, parents, students, current and former teachers, and supporters to join us as we celebrate Catholic Education in The Bahamas! Proceeds Benefit: Catholic Schools Development Fund. Part proceeds will assist displaced students and teachers from Abaco and Grand Bahama.

The CBOE Congratulates Lauren Scriven of SFdS 2019 Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year

On Saturday, May 18th The Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year was named. Out of the 120 students and schools vying for the title,the distinctive honour was awarded to Lauren Scriven, of St. Francis de Sales School!

We extend our congratulations to Lauren and her school community. We’re also grateful to the team at Sts. Francis & Joseph for nurturing her before she transferred to Abaco.

All of our Catholic school students were either ‘Runner Ups, Ranked Finalists or Finalists’. We celebrate Daunte Butler, Xavier’s Lower School, for his 5th place finish and also for being the only male in the top six finishers.

Ranked Finalists included 7th place finisher, JaiDon Hailey, Sts. Francis & Joseph School and 16th place finisher,Olivia Hernandez-Cambridge, St. Cecilia’s School.

Finalists included Branden Carey, St. Thomas More School and Myah Knowles, Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Academy.
